Blog History:

This blog is Sandy’s personal blog and is called Crux-of-the-Matter (CotM). It started in January 2006 on a Blogger platform, moving to WordPress.com in mid 2007.  

Blogger Profile:

Sandy is a retired teacher and former academic in education who lives in Ontario, Canada. She completed her Ph.D in the 1980s at the University of Toronto (OISE) in curriculum (including special education) and sociology. At various times she taught in two Southern Ontario universities and owned and operated a private special education practice. 

Following early retirement, she also spent some time as both a communications strategist and human resources consultant for an Ontario PC Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP).

She is married and has a grown family. Her adult son has struggled with an autism spectrum disorder all of his life. For some insights as to those struggles, visitors can click here for a recent post she wrote on the topic.

Sandy is not responsible for any content or link to another site where data can be changed without her knowledge, and where she would have no way of moderating changes or making revisions. Also, as the latest Supreme Court decision indicates, she is not responsible for anything written on a site she has linked to that might be considered libelous.

Re Privacy Policy:

At www.crux-of-the-matter.com, the privacy of its visitors is of extreme importance to the administrator. As such, this privacy policy document outlines the types of personal information that is received and collected and how it is used.

For example, like many other Web sites, www.crux-of-the-matter.com makes use of log files. The information inside the log files includes Internet protocol ( IP ) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider ( ISP ), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information. IP addresses, and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
